Mom of many heading into empty nest syndrome- come enjoy the ride!

About Me

My photo
Little Town in the middle of Nowhere, Texas, United States
I'm a mom of 4 boys: Jay who's 30, Jory who is 27, Tim is 25, and B is 23. I also have a daughter, Kristi who is 33. I have a grandson, Little Bit/Elmer, that was born in July 2009. I have a new grandson who was born in September of 2017. We moved from North TX to East TX on the land of our dreams in '09 and I love the peace and quiet. It's so nice to have trees again after 11 years of flat and hot. I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I'm a huge baseball fan. Some might even call me obsessed with the game. ;) My favorite teams are the Rangers and the Red Sox. Being a Red Sox fan makes life interesting as all 4 of my boys are Yankee fans. (Basically, I only started cheering for the Red Sox to give the boys a hard time and then actually became a fan) I'm a happily single (well...divorced) mom.

I do "nothing"... or so they say

It's 2:30 in the afternoon and this is what I've done so far:

4 loads laundry
load dishes (x2)
unload dishes
counters (x3)
fill water bottles
pick up bathroom (x3)
tim's hat to bedroom
LM's drinks to his fridge
pick up water bottles
put LM's clothes away
put B's clothes away
sweep and mop front entry
sweep and mop boys bathroom
pick up wet towel from LM's room (x2)
laundry from B's room
sweep and mop my bedroom and bathroom
toilet and counter boys bathroom
cig ashes off stove (take all pieces off stove to get to the ashes)
LM's water and gatorade to his bedroom
pick up LM's cooler from in front of door
pick up house (laundry, dishes, empty gatorade and water bottles)

Now mind you, I still have to cook dinner and sweep and mop the kitchen.  All while being in constant pain and feeling like my back is in a vice today.

To add insult to injury - The Little Man with the big mouth popped off to tell me that I "don't do shit but sit on my tail and watch tv".  Why is it illegal to lock them up till they turn 30 and grow a brain?  And this as he has done nothing today but be the major contributor to the mess.

To add more insult to injury - Hurricane, Donna and LM are at the crazy aunts house today.  Hurricane says he already told LM that Tina needs to not even talk to him and he's just going to see his cousin (home on leave from the marines after finishing basic training) but I have to go to the Dr in the morning so the last of the time that I would have gotten to see Hurricane before he leaves till Christmas so while I understand that he wants to see his cousin, I can't help but be more than a little hurt. Ok, who am I kidding?  I'm more than a "little" hurt and as per my normal reaction, I am beating myself up staying busy so that I don't lose my temper.  Especially since the only one here is B and I sure can't be mad at him when he's the one that refused to go over there after the way Tina did me.  So, I called Nanny and Colby and invited them over for dinner.  At least my house will be clean when they come right?

Well, off here so that I can do more "nothing".  Hope y'all had a great weekend!

It doesn't pay....

to be nice.  I told you yesterday about the cleaning trip with Mrs. JJ.  And Vix was oh so happy.  She was thankful.  She was relieved.  She could come home and just do the laundry that they had from the vacation.

And then they had dinner.  And she went to give Cal his medicine.  And one of them was gone.  Did it matter that because she couldn't find a house key to give Mrs. JJ that the house was open for a week straight?  Did it matter that in the 27 years that I've known them that I've never had so much as a detention in school?  Did it matter that 3 other people that they know of had been in the house while they were gone?  Oh no.  Immediately Cal decided that he was going to suspect me.  Because I drove over an hour to their house and spent 4 hours cleaning and aggravating my own disease just to be able to steal from him.  Idiot.  And yes, that's judgmental.  And so was Cal when he accused the 3 people least likely to have done it.  My son lived there.  There's 900 teenagers who knew that they were going out of town, knew what they keep there and knew where it was.  And I will say that not for one second does Vix believe that I had anything to do with it.  And to be honest, the first person that Cal accused was Vix herself.  Cal thought Vix had "lost" his meds.

So, I've been up since 1:30 this morning when I got the 1st text message from Vix asking if I had moved anything.  Then she and I brainstormed till after 3 trying to figure out who might have been in the house to know exactly where to look and not touch anything else.  I'm a thinking that locking it in the gun safe might have been the smart thing to do and not leaving it in her dresser drawer.  But that's my take from having teenagers and losing things out of my drawers before.  But most of all I'm fighting the little demon that says "never been nice again - to anyone".  The one that says "no good deed goes unpunished".  Because right now- I'm not feeling very nice.  I'm not feeling very happy.  And even though I know that when Cal wakes up this morning and isn't so mad and tired- he'll know that I didn't do it- I'm still very insulted.  And ticked off.

So, excuse me while I go wrestle with my own demons today.  My integrity has been questioned and I need to find a way to get past this.
